Scheduled Land Rover Safaris

The stunning scenery and fascinating history of Atholl remain constant throughout the year but our safaris change seasonally to take advantage of day light hours and wildlife behaviour.

During the winter we focus on red squirrels and red deer which become more visible during the harder weather as the quest for food brings them out of their normal hiding.

During the spring, our attention moves to birds of prey. During this time they become more active to feed their young and can be seen gliding effortlessly through the sky. Migrating birds are also on their way home and on the ground, a spring flush of flowers, butterflies, calves and lambs completes the spring safari.

The summer months of July and August provide days that never seem to end with dusk and dawn gliding into each other. This is a fantastic time of year to watch the countryside wake up and go to sleep with the dusk and dawn light continuing for hours. Our summer safaris take advantage of these times and offer unforgettable views of the landscape bathed in deep colour.

Autumn is a busy time in the hills of Atholl at the height of the red deer stalking season and disturbance to this essential work has to be minimal. However, as a working estate we time our stag rutting safaris to avoid deer stalking and so provide our guests with the renowned opportunity to see these magnificent beasts perform at the rut.

Your safari will be hosted by a ranger or keeper who know the land and our wildlife and can uniquely present what you see within the context of a working estate.
